Kayaking is a peaceful way to enjoy the area. With miles of coastline, salt marshes, wetlands, and marine hammocks, you can experience nature in a much different manner than in a power boat. A quiet kayak gives you the perfect way to get up close and personal with marine birds and mammals.
Fishing
There are so many opportunities for fishing here, salt and fresh water. Surf fishing is always a popular option as is the St. Augustine Pier. A private fishing charter is also a good choice.
Golfing
Golfing is another great out-door activity with many world-class courses available. The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass can bring out your inner Arnold Palmer and even our Public Golf Course offers a great round of golf. There is also the King and Bear and the Slammer and Squire at the World Golf Village which were designed by world renowned golfers.

With so much to see, especially in the historic district, walking and hiking are more intimate ways to experience the ambiance of our quaint, historic area. There are even walking tours where you can learn about the history, culture, and architecture of this historic town.
Beach Days
With our 42 miles of beautiful white sand beaches, you can enjoy sunbathing, surfing, and shell-collecting which makes for a perfect beach day. The sunrises are spectacular if you are an early riser and you may also find shark’s teeth and shells that are long gone later in the day.
Paddleboarding
Paddle boarding is another popular water activity that also provides a quiet and leisurely way to explore the area. This quieter activity also gives the opportunity for observing marine wildlife up close and personal.
